Eames Aluminum Chair
Eames Aluminum Chair
4.5 Stars Rating

Looking at the Eames Aluminum Group chair it's difficult to believe that it's 50 years old this year.

Its classic looks come from its minimalist design where the fabric is in a single continuous piece stretched over the aluminum frame.

The chair is still being made today to the same design, although it now has a 5 star base for stability.

It also comes in thicker Soft Pad upholstery which spoils its looks. However, the mesh Cygnus upholstery introduced more recently looks great.

It's offered in medium and high back options, with or without arms.

It may lack some of the adjustments found on more modern chairs, but you can't beat its quality and looks.

Barcelona Chair
Barcelona Chair
5 Stars Rating

When you consider the Barcelona was introduced in 1929, it just shows how the power of simplicity in design can give a product timeless longevity.

The chair is a classic and designer Mies van der Rohe focused on 3 key areas - light in weight for ease of movement, strength and comfort.

The chair is still produced by Knoll to the same specification, there are a lot of look alike versions being made that vary greatly in quality.

As well as the chair there is also a complementary stool as well as a couch.

If you want your seating to make a statement, the Barcelona has to be a great choice.
