If you find difficulty in getting comfortable in your present office chair, then the Ergo Ex could well be a good alternative with the fully featured range of adjustments it offers.

It will be best suited for those of average or above average height and weight and is designed to cater for users weighing up to 350lbs.

It has a fabric upholstered seat pad with a stylish shaped mesh back incorporating adjustable lumbar and headrest supports. The fabric and mesh only come in black presumably to simplify stocking and keep costs down.

The only negative is the 1 year warranty which is why we gave it a 4 star rating instead of the full 5 stars. This aside it is a great chair for the money.

This BackSaver Model is a competitively priced chair, although it is well built it lacks an important feature - seat depth adjustment.

It's a big chair and so is going to be best suited to those of above average height or weight. People not fitting this profile will find the HÅG 4201 a better choice.

The chair only comes in black fabric which is probably intended to keep the cost of the product highly competitive, if you are happy with this limitation of fabric choice then the BackSaver offers excellent value for money.

We scored it with 3 stars because of the lack of seat adjustment and limited choice of finish.

The Hyperion is a good quality office chair from respected seating manufacture La-Z-Boy.

Although it includes a wide range of adjustments, some are a little restrictive. For instance the sliding seat only allows 1 inch of adjustment and may be a problem for some users.

Also, the seat height low adjustment position only goes down to 17.5 inches, so if you are below average height you might need to use a footrest with the La-Z-Boy Hyperion.

As well as being suitable for normal office use, La-Z-Boy promotes it as a meeting chair.

It would make a great chair for meeting use as the slightly restrictive adjustments aren't so critical.

The OFM Model 122 Sliding Seat Task Chair is a competitively priced chair for the features it offers, however it lacks tilt tension control.

This means that users are unable to adjust it to their own needs, and so those of below or above average weight may well find it unsuitable.

For this reason we only scored it with 3 stars, however if you are between 11 and 14 stones the lack of tension adjustment probably won't be a problem.

It has a large seat pad and so will be unsuitable for petite and below average height users, larger framed individuals should appreciate the fit and competitive pricing of the chair.
